A. The French Revolution was influenced by the American; after the First Republic, the Directorate was established, but Napoleon quickly took control of that board of seven old men. He re-invaded the rebelling Haiti but was quickly driven back and decided to take the loss and dedicate troops to fighting Spanish guerillas and German, Russian, and Austrian soldiers.
